Bob Weeks at AFP gathering in D.C. Friday
Wichita’s Voice for Liberty blogger Bob Weeks has been named the best blogger in the U.S., the 2009 Americans for Prosperity Blogger of the Year. The award was presented Friday evening at the AFP Defending the American Dream Summit in Washington, D.C.
Bob started his blog in October 2004 during the debate over Wichita’s new downtown arena to explore and report on issues of government, media, and individual liberty. From the about page of Wichita’s Voice for Liberty:
I too became involved in arguing issues like these, even when I knew in my heart that the most important issues are these: How much government do we want, at the expense of how much personal liberty, and what is the proper role of government and individual? I saw very little discussion of these important issues, and most importantly, very little media coverage.
Bob works tirelessly to pry the lid off of government and speak out against officials and policies that work against the best interests of citizens. His work and perspectives have been featured in The Wichita Eagle and on local television. He is also a member of the Sedgwick County board of zoning appeals, appointed by Karl Peterjohn.
Bob, an IT professional, uses the full range of modern technology to record events and prove his point. His YouTube channel includes clips from important local government meetings, national news events and his own appearances on Kansas Week on KPTS.
Congratulations Bob!
