Kansas City author Jack Cashill talks about Bill Ayers, Barack Obama, “Dreams From My Father”

Jack Cashill, an author and journalist (see wiki page), was the first to ask in Oct 2008 if Bill Ayers wrote Barack Obama’s book, “Dreams From My Father.”
Rush Limbaugh discussed the matter on air prior to the elections last year, but at that time the story wasn’t picked up by the main stream media, nor the media on the right.
Cashill spoke last night at the conservative/libertarian Zenith Boosters Club in Kansas City about the media aspect of his story, including how the media on the right failed to report the story. Cashill also gave some details about the literary detective work used to study Obama’s book.

This story went nowhere in the media until two weeks ago when Christopher Andersen appeared on Hannity’s show to discuss his new book: “Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage.”
Cashill describes seven pages in Andersen’s book that gives background info about Obama “writing” Dreams From My Father. Andersen’s book says Michelle Obama suggested to Barack to contact Bill Ayers for help with the book after he had writer’s block in completing the manuscript. These seven pages in Andersen’s book largely confirm Cashill’s earlier speculation that Ayers wrote Obama’s book.
Cashill said he has read about 100 reviews of “Barack and Michelle” and none mentions the politically explosive seven pages about Ayres.
On Tuesday the blogger BackyardConservative describes an encounter with Bill Ayres at National Airport where Ayres admits he wrote Obama’s book, which was widely discussed in the blogosphere yesterday.
In the audio, Cashill describes his phone conversation with the BackyardConservative blogger about the Ayres encounter. [See 2nd audio clip.]
Some conservative journalists, like Jonah Goldberg, are now taking Cashill’s earlier work about Ayers’ authorship of Obama’s book more seriously.
Editor’s note: The audio clip was edited for length. Certain portions identifying Cashill’s resources and contacts were deleted at Cashill’s request.
