It was refreshing to read a Wichita Eagle blog post by Phillip Brownlee questioning whether it’s wise in these economic conditions for USD 259 Wichita to upgrade its membership in Schools for Fair Funding.

As Wichita and other districts consider using taxpayer money to sue for more taxpayer money it might be helpful to look at how much money they have left over from the previous year’s budget and how much that money has grown in recent years.

As I reported last week, Dale Dennis acknowledged that total contingency reserve funds in school districts statewide is more than enough to make up for his latest estimate of 2010’s shortfall. The story is here.
