Overland Park Tea Party in the Snow Against Health Care Bill
Print This Article
Overland Park. More than 50 protested Saturday in the snow outside Congressman Dennis Moore’s (D-Lenexa) office against the proposed health care bill being discussed by the U.S. House.
Many were quite cold and seemed to want to focus on staying warm instead of giving video comments.
Two Kansas 3rd District Congressional candidates give their views in this video, as well as Overland Park resident Frank Boler:
In the video former Kansas State Senator and 3rd District Congressional candidate Nick Jordan said:
This is an important day. We’ve got corrupt politics going on in Washington, DC. A bill that’s just about to bankrupt our country is being passed. It’s time to stand up. It’s good to see the people standing up even on snowy days for what they believe in.
Third District candidate John Rysavy echoed a similar view:
I’m here to stand up for America, to tell America, to tell Dennis Moore that his health care vote is wrong. We the people don’t want this. We need to take back America and go back to the Constitution. To remember that’s why we’re here. That flag. And don’t forget that folks.
Overland Park resident Frank Boler opined:
Medicare and Medicaid are only paying 90 cents on the dollar to providers. … [They are all] losing money. Going the same route with national health insurance, they’ll keep doing that. It wouldn’t be good to have national health insurance because there will not be any providers. They’ll all be out of business. They’ll all be broke.

Madame Speaker, you keep accusing your opponents of ‘astroturfing’. Well, astroturf and blizzards are mutually exclusive. Score 1 for the good guys.
Good on ya, KC tea party.
