At Kansas City Post Party Summit Texas Watchdog Trent Siebert talks about investigative journalism to expose government corruption

On Saturday at the American Majority Post-Party Summit held in Kansas City, Missouri two of  the sessions were about investigative journalism.

These sessions were to encourage citizen journalists to get more involved in keeping government at all levels — federal, state, county, local — more accountable.

Trent Siebert, veteran journalist from the Texas Watchdog, gave an engaging talk and insightful tips on how citizen journalists could investigate corruption in government.

Representing the Kansas Watchdog, I talked about several cases involving open records, and a number of information sources that should be helpful to investigative journalism in both Kansas and Missouri.

I created a new Journalism Resource page and put Trent’s links and my PowerPoint slides online to help others keep an eye on government inefficiency, waste, fraud and corruption, or other abuses.
