KansasWatchdog.org: Keeping an eye on Kansas government

KansasWatchdog.org is an independent online resource supporting government of, by and for the people of Kansas. The news site presents original investigative reports into state and local issues, regular blog updates and news and commentary from a variety of sources around the state. The focus is on government waste and inefficiency, political corruption and anything that goes against free-market principles and core values of the U.S. and Kansas constitutions.

KansasWatchdog.org, a project of the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity, is part of a nationwide effort to give citizens and their elected representatives solid, factual reporting on issues that matter.

We also want to recruit reliable citizen journalists.  Anyone interested in becoming a Watchdog and contributing tips, information, expertise or helping in any other way can contact us through staff email addresses or at Kansas@Watchdog.org or (316)734-5431.

The Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity was established as a service provider for organizations investigating fraud, abuse of tax dollars and government or public officials at all levels and the private sector. The Franklin center is engaged in journalism research projects, education and training programs designed to provide a network of investigative reporters and the general public access to information and news.

KansasWatchdog was launched in September 2009 as a joint project of the Franklin Center and the Kansas Policy Institute, a Kansas-based think tank that conducts research and initiates reform in education, fiscal policy and health care.
