Kansas remapping flap is constitutional crisis, elections chief says

TOPEKA — Kansas is in the midst of a constitutional crisis, Secretary of State Kris Kobach, the state’s chief election officer, said Wednesday.

Candidates must decide by June 11 whether to run, or not to run. But they don’t yet know who their opponents might be, or which doors to knock on.

OVERLAND PARK — Kansas Democrats met at 50 state senate district caucuses on Saturday and elected 496 delegates pledging support for President Barack Obama‘s re-election.
These senate district delegates will meet at congressional district caucuses on May 5 to elect a portion of Kansas’ delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte in September.

TOPEKA — City Councilman Michael O’Donnell admitted fault in seeking contributions for a state senator via email sent to friends from his City of Wichita computer and was fined $500.
